Colorado curation
In the heart of Hokkaido, Tomamu combines ski-in/ski-out access, kids clubs, Japanese powder, Ice Village and Japan's largest indoor wave pool.
Village profile
Club Med Tomamu Hokkaido is a contemporary ski-in/ski-out Village with particular strength for families. Clubs from ages 2 to 17, group lessons and all-inclusive convenience simplify a Japanese snow holiday.
Its defining advantage is belonging to a complete winter resort. Ice Village, the Terrace of Frosted Tree and Mina-Mina Beach create an appealing programme for young children and travellers who do not plan to ski every day.

The hotel
Jean-Philippe Nuel's design translates Japan's four seasons into vivid colours and contemporary lines. Accommodation includes Superior and Deluxe rooms and Suites, with several family layouts and separate children's spaces.
Practical note: Tomamu is a large, lively Village with many families. Travellers prioritising quiet and a more intimate Japanese experience should compare it with Kiroro Peak.

The mountain
The ski area spans two mountains with 29 runs, 585 metres of vertical and a longest descent of 4.2 km. Terrain works well from beginner to advanced and includes a snow park, ungroomed sectors and an experts-only powder zone.

The terrain
Official Hoshino Resorts Tomamu data for the 2026/27 season. Powder-area opening depends on conditions and local rules.
Progressive learning areas, daily beginner groups and wide pistes make Tomamu a welcoming base for a first snow experience, especially for families.
This is the profile that gets the most from the mountain: varied, well-groomed terrain and runs long enough to progress without the complexity of an enormous ski area.
The experts-only powder area, ungroomed terrain and 35-degree maximum gradient add challenge. Even so, Tomamu is a complete resort rather than a purely technical ski destination.
Dry inland Hokkaido powder and the snow park are the highlights. The compact scale makes the mountain easy to explore, though a few gentler returns require planning.

Dining and experiences
Itara combines international buffet dining with seafood, miso ramen and Japanese flavours. Haku focuses on yakiniku, Japanese barbecue prepared at the table. After skiing, Unkai and The Nest — Zen Bar complete the evening.
