The mountain
Learn in the forest, progress at a different pace.
Beginners have their own carpet lift and gentle runs near the base. The Pudú quad chair opens intermediate and advanced terrain, including red and black runs. This is a smaller ski area than Chapelco; its draw is a quieter pace rather than vast terrain.
There is a ski and snowboard school, equipment rental at the base and activities for non-skiers such as snowshoe outings. Available slopes and experiences depend on snow, weather and daily operations.

The San Martín tourism office lists the resort 34 km from town. Access leaves Route 40 and includes a gravel stretch; check winter road conditions before departure. From Villa La Angostura, allow around 55 minutes in favourable conditions.
With limited daily capacity, book ski passes, equipment and lessons ahead. For a full week, consider alternating Lago Hermoso with Chapelco and regional outings according to your group's interests.
