Progression with a view
Maillard sector
The most approachable part of the mountain brings together learning terrain, flowing groomers and direct summit access. It is the clearest starting point for beginners and families.

A complete Le Massif guide: mountain sectors, Club Med Québec Charlevoix, Baie-Saint-Paul, selected hotels and access via Québec City.
Colorado curation
With 770 metres of vertical and 53 trails and glades overlooking the St. Lawrence River, Le Massif combines singular scenery, consistent snow and three distinctly different ways to experience Charlevoix.
The Colorado perspective
Le Massif is one of Canada’s most visually distinctive ski experiences. Its 770-metre vertical unfolds above the immense St. Lawrence River, creating the sensation of descending directly towards the water.
The journey can be effortless and all-inclusive at Club Med, more cultural in Baie-Saint-Paul or private in a mountain chalet. Choosing the right base changes the experience completely.
Destination profile
Official resort reference figures. Open terrain and lift operation depend on snow, weather and maintenance.
How the mountain works
Le Massif is compact on the map but substantial in vertical. Ability, visibility and surface conditions should determine how quickly the group moves between sectors.
Progression with a view
The most approachable part of the mountain brings together learning terrain, flowing groomers and direct summit access. It is the clearest starting point for beginners and families.
The complete descent
Long top-to-bottom pistes use the mountain’s exceptional vertical and open directly towards the St. Lawrence River. Confident intermediates find Le Massif at its most characteristic here.
Sporting and secluded
A more remote sector with wooded pistes, natural-snow character and stronger terrain. It rewards experienced skiers and riders willing to read conditions and move around the mountain.
Touring and off-piste
More than 15 km beyond the ski-area boundary are reserved for prepared and properly equipped experts. Access rules, avalanche awareness and group travel are essential.
The defining view
From the upper pistes, the frozen St. Lawrence fills the horizon like an inland sea. The groomed runs descend through the forest towards the water, creating the perspective that makes Le Massif unmistakable.

Three different stays
Ski-in/ski-out ease
The only all-inclusive Club Med in Canada sits at the foot of the slopes. Lessons, lift access, meals, childcare and après-ski make this the simplest base for families and mixed-ability groups.
Culture and gastronomy
About 25 km from the mountain, the region’s most appealing town combines galleries, independent restaurants and local producers. A car or planned transfer is essential for ski days.
Privacy and landscape
Apartments at the base and forest chalets near the summit offer kitchens, space and extraordinary river views. They work best for independent families and groups travelling by car.
Colorado hotel selection
Categories are editorial references and can vary by rating system. Distance from the slopes, meal plan and winter transfers matter as much as stars.
Charlevoix’s grand historic resort pairs river views, spa, pools and polished service. At a considerable distance from Le Massif, it works best as a luxury regional extension rather than a daily ski base.
The destination’s most complete ski-in/ski-out stay: all-inclusive meals and drinks, group lessons, childcare and entertainment in a contemporary building facing the river.
A design-led hotel beside the town centre, with spa, local gastronomy and a strong sense of place—ideal when skiing is combined with Charlevoix culture.
A refined historic address on Rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste, placing galleries and restaurants at the doorstep.
A practical full-service option with straightforward road access towards the mountain.
A small characterful inn in the heart of the historic street, best for couples who value atmosphere over resort facilities.

Getting there
Practical questions
Yes, especially around the Maillard learning areas. The resort’s vertical and stronger sectors should be explored progressively with the ski school or a route suited to the group.
The combination of 770 metres of vertical, wooded skiing and top-to-bottom views over the St. Lawrence River is unlike any other Eastern Canadian mountain.
Choose Club Med for ski-in/ski-out, all-inclusive convenience and children’s structure. Choose Baie-Saint-Paul for restaurants, galleries, regional character and a more independent journey.
Five to seven nights work well for a dedicated ski holiday. Add nights in Québec City or elsewhere in Charlevoix when culture, gastronomy and winter landscapes matter equally.
Club Med guests can rely on a planned airport transfer. For Baie-Saint-Paul, mountain chalets or a wider Charlevoix itinerary, a car is strongly recommended.
Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) is the principal gateway. Le Massif is approximately 90 minutes from the airport by road.
