Spain’s highest ski resort combines 112.5 km of pistes, 1,200 metres of vertical and an extraordinary cultural extension in Granada.
Espanha · Granada · Andaluzia
Sierra Nevada is Spain’s highest ski resort and the most southerly in Europe. Its greatest distinction lies beyond the pistes: combining ski and snowboard days with Granada, the Alhambra and Andalusian culture.
Pradollano climbs the hillside, and hotel location completely changes the experience. Staying by the square simplifies lessons and gondolas; the upper village prioritises views, quiet and some of the finest hotels.

Reading the mountain
The mountain hub at roughly 2,700 metres brings together ski school, learning areas, rental and restaurants. It is the easiest reference point for beginners and families to start the day.
The highest area offers long pistes, open horizons and the singular feeling of skiing above Andalusia. Wind, visibility and operations determine access to the upper elevations.
Broad, sporting and exposed terrain sought by advanced skiers when conditions align. It is not an area to rely on every day: opening and quality vary with the weather.
Combines progressive pistes, snowboard and freestyle terrain, and options for mixed-ability groups. It is a natural next step after mastering Borreguiles.
These are the major return runs to Pradollano and allow guests to finish the day skiing to the village. They can become busy late in the afternoon; on selected dates, they host night skiing.

Choosing your base
The most practical position for gondolas, ski school, shops and restaurants. The strongest answer for families and first trips when fewer transfers matter more than quiet and views.
Balances access to the square, apartments and hotels with greater calm. The village gradient, stairs and internal transport should be considered when selecting an address.
Home to some of the most sophisticated hotels and attractive piste access. It offers views and a retreat atmosphere, but requires a shuttle, urban chairlift or car for the lower village.
An extraordinary cultural extension, rather than the most fluid base for daily skiing. The best strategy usually separates nights on the mountain and in the city, avoiding the road journey every day.
Selected accommodation
Services, access and shuttle operations are reconfirmed for each journey.
The resort’s most emblematic luxury address, with lodge aesthetics, spa and privileged snow access. It suits travellers who want to experience the mountain with service and privacy.
A contemporary boutique hotel with strong personality, a social atmosphere and convenient piste access. A distinctive choice for couples and groups of friends.
An Alpine-inspired hotel with a spa and panoramic position. The routine depends on piste access and transport to the square, which should be confirmed each season.
One of the easiest locations in the resort, close to the gondolas and services. Its extensive facilities work well for families prioritising convenience.
A complete option with wellness and a strong setup for groups and children. Appealing when the goal is to centre the daily routine in the lower village.
A traditional, central address with straightforward access to restaurants and lifts. It should be compared by room category and the actual uphill distance to the principal access points.

Beyond the pistes
Two or three nights in the city transform the journey: the Alhambra, Albaicín, viewpoints, tapas and historic hotels. Alhambra tickets require advance planning.
Pradollano’s recreational park creates an alternative for children and non-skiers, with activities subject to operations and weather.
El Río and Maribel may open under lights on selected dates. It is a special experience, but the calendar and conditions must be confirmed.
The combination of altitude and latitude favours bright days and a season that can extend into spring. Temperature, wind and changing snow call for a daily reading of the mountain.
Arrival and logistics
Granada Airport is approximately 55 km from the resort. Málaga is around 170 km away and generally broadens flight options and Costa del Sol extensions.
The final approach climbs the A-395 to 2,100 metres. A private transfer avoids managing parking, chains and winter conditions; schedules should allow for possible weekend congestion.
