Switzerland · Crans-Montana

Sunshine, skiing and Swiss polish.

A complete Crans-Montana guide: mountain, village, access and a curated selection of 3-, 4- and 5-star hotels.

Colorado curation

On a sunny plateau in Valais, Crans-Montana combines 140 km of pistes, expansive Alpine views and one of Switzerland's most compelling hotel selections. Colorado matches the base, hotel and logistics to each journey.

01

Who it suits

Families, couples, intermediate skiers and travellers who value hotels, gastronomy and wellness.

02

The mountain

Sunny pistes from 1,500 to 3,000 metres, with terrain for different abilities.

03

The village

Crans and Montana combine shopping, restaurants, lakes and distinct mountain access points.

The Colorado perspective

Alpine sun.
Swiss polish.

Set on a high plateau above the Rhône Valley, Crans-Montana pairs a south-facing ski area with exceptional Alpine views, sophisticated hotels and a village that remains interesting beyond the slopes.

It is especially compelling for families, couples and mixed groups looking for good skiing without giving up restaurants, shopping, wellness and an elegant mountain atmosphere.

The mountain

Wide horizons and sunshine.

  • 140 km of marked, south-facing pistes.
  • Terrain from 1,500 to 3,000 metres, reaching Plaine Morte.
  • A strong profile for intermediates, with options for beginners and advanced skiers.
  • Mountain restaurants, panoramic terraces and a recognised Snowpark.

The sunny exposure is a defining quality, but also makes altitude and daily snow conditions important when choosing where to ski.

The village

Two centres.
One destination.

Crans concentrates refined boutiques, restaurants and many of the leading luxury hotels. Montana has a livelier, more practical centre and its own gondola access. Lakes, winter walks, the ice rink and Snow Island connect the destination's life beyond skiing.

Swiss logistics
working for you.

Practical questions

Before choosing
your hotel.

Is Crans-Montana good for beginners?+

Yes. The ski area has terrain for every level, while Snow Island offers a particularly accessible first contact with snow and beginner activities in the village.

Which village centre should I choose?+

Crans is more polished and close to luxury shopping and many high-end hotels. Montana feels livelier and often offers easier access to practical, better-value accommodation. The right choice depends on the hotel and gondola you plan to use.

How many nights should I stay?+

Five to seven nights work well for a dedicated ski trip. A shorter three- or four-night stay can be combined with Geneva, Lausanne or another Valais destination.

Do I need a car?+

No. Trains connect Geneva Airport with Sierre/Siders, followed by the 13-minute funicular or local buses. Private transfers remain the easiest option with children and ski luggage.

Your Crans-Montana journey

The right hotel.
The right mountain.

Colorado can arrange flights, rail or private transfers, hotel, ski passes, lessons, equipment, insurance, mountain restaurants and a wider Swiss itinerary.
