Park City Mountain. Vast terrain, historic town.

A complete Park City Mountain guide: 7,300 acres, Mountain Village, Canyons Village, Main Street, hotels, families and access via Salt Lake City.

Colorado curation

Two major base areas, 330+ trails and a genuine town make Park City one of America’s most complete and accessible ski journeys.

The Colorado perspective

A vast mountain.
A historic town.
Remarkably close.

Park City Mountain combines 7,300 acres with one of America’s most engaging ski towns, only a short transfer from Salt Lake City. Its scale is an advantage — provided the base, hotel and daily mountain strategy are chosen well.

Mountain Village, Canyons Village and Historic Main Street create three genuinely different journeys. Colorado connects the right one to your family, ability and desired evening atmosphere.

How the mountain works

Two gateways.
One enormous domain.

01

The classic starting point

Mountain Village & Payday

Ski school, rentals and broad groomers create an intuitive first day. Payday and Crescent lead into the historic Park City side of the domain.

02

Space and family progression

Canyons Village & Red Pine

A complete slopeside base with gondola access, long blue runs and useful learning terrain. It is especially practical for families staying in Canyons Village.

03

The heart of the mountain

King Con & Silverlode

A central network of groomers, bowls and connections. It works well for confident intermediates, but the scale makes a planned route more rewarding.

04

Advanced terrain

McConkey’s, Jupiter & Ninety-Nine 90

Bowls, steeps, trees and hike-to options give the mountain genuine depth. Openings depend on snow, avalanche work, weather and visibility.

Historic Main Street

Ski town by day.
A real town at night.

Silver-mining history, independent shops, galleries, restaurants and bars give Main Street an identity that resort-built villages rarely reproduce. When operations permit, Quit’N Time and Town Lift make the relationship with the mountain unusually direct.

Canyons Village

Stay slopeside. Start with space.

  • A large choice of hotels and residences close to the lifts.
  • Red Pine terrain supports family progression.
  • Restaurants and services create a self-contained resort routine.
  • Quicksilver Gondola connects both sides, subject to daily operations.

Three ways to stay

Where to stay in Park City.

01

Town life and character

Historic Old Town

Stay near Main Street for restaurants, galleries and atmosphere. Town Lift can connect the historic centre to the mountain when operating; exact access deserves checking for each hotel.

02

Simplest ski routine

Park City Mountain Village

Lessons, equipment, family services and lifts are concentrated at the original base. A strong choice for first visits and travellers who prioritise skiing.

03

Slopeside resort living

Canyons Village

A broad resort base with premium hotels, residences, dining and direct lift access. It feels more self-contained and sits closer to the arrival route from Salt Lake City.

Practical questions

Before choosing
your Park City.

Is Park City Mountain good for families?+

Yes. Both main bases have ski school and beginner terrain, while long groomers support progression. A hotel near the correct lesson meeting point makes a major difference.

Mountain Village or Canyons Village?+

Mountain Village is best for the original Park City side and a straightforward lesson routine. Canyons offers more slopeside accommodation and a self-contained resort feel.

Can snowboarders ride at Park City Mountain?+

Yes. Skiers and snowboarders can use Park City Mountain. Nearby Deer Valley remains ski-only.

Park City Mountain or Deer Valley?+

Choose Park City for scale, variety, snowboard access and Epic Pass. Choose Deer Valley for ski-only slopes, controlled access and a service-led experience.

Do I need a car?+

Not necessarily. Airport transfers, hotel shuttles and Park City’s free public transport cover most journeys. A car can help for wider regional plans but adds parking considerations.

Which airport should I use?+

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is the natural gateway. Park City is about 35 minutes away in normal conditions; winter traffic and weather can lengthen the journey.
