France · Megève

Skiing, gastronomy and Alpine elegance.

A complete Megève guide: Rochebrune, Mont d’Arbois, Jaillet, access and selected 3-, 4- and 5-star hotels.

Colorado curation

Megève combines a historic village, exceptional hospitality and more than 400 km in Évasion Mont-Blanc. Colorado matches the location, hotel and ski sector to every traveller.

01

Who it suits

Couples, families, mixed groups and travellers who value village life, gastronomy and hotels.

02

The mountain

Rochebrune, Mont d’Arbois and Jaillet, with over 400 km in Évasion Mont-Blanc.

03

The village

Historic centre, chalets, boutiques, restaurants and distinct hillside bases.

The Colorado perspective

An authentic village.
Skiing and
elegance.

Megève is not simply a ski base. Its historic centre, chalet architecture, gastronomy and hotel collection are integral to the journey — while Évasion Mont-Blanc provides one of the Alps’ most extensive and scenic ski areas.

The best choice depends on the desired balance between walking into the village, immediate lift access and hotel shuttle service.

The mountain

Rochebrune, Mont d’Arbois and Jaillet.

  • Over 400 km in Évasion Mont-Blanc, with 228 runs and 40 lifts.
  • Rochebrune and Côte 2000 for wooded pistes, red runs and classic Megève scenery.
  • Mont d’Arbois for broad cruising and links towards Saint-Gervais.
  • Jaillet for Mont Blanc views, family terrain and access towards Combloux and La Giettaz.

Choosing a base

The village
changes everything.

Megève is spread across several hillsides. A hotel that looks close on the map may involve a steep walk, so lift access, centre access and shuttle frequency should be evaluated together.

Where to stay

Choose the setting.
Then the hotel.

01

Village centre

The most atmospheric base: cobbled streets, church square, boutiques, restaurants and carriage rides. Rochebrune is the most convenient lift, while hotel shuttles make Mont d’Arbois and Jaillet accessible.

02

Rochebrune

Excellent balance between village life and skiing. The cable car gives direct access to Rochebrune and Côte 2000; properties on the upper roads require careful assessment of walking distance and shuttle service.

03

Mont d’Arbois & Demi-Quartier

A quieter, more exclusive chalet setting with direct access to Mont d’Arbois and the Saint-Gervais link. Home to several luxury hotels, but less practical for walking into the centre.

04

Jaillet & Princesse

Jaillet offers sunny, family-friendly skiing towards Combloux and La Giettaz. Princesse is highly efficient for Mont d’Arbois and often suits residences, chalets and travellers prioritising ski access.

Colorado hotel selection

From Alpine houses
to exceptional resorts.

Practical questions

Before choosing
your hotel.

Is Megève good for beginners?+

Yes. The area has gentle progression terrain, especially around Jaillet, Mont d’Arbois and selected village learning zones. The lesson meeting point should guide the choice of hotel.

How many nights should I stay?+

Seven nights are ideal to explore the large domain without rushing and enjoy the village. Four or five nights can work for a combined Alpine itinerary with a central, well-connected base.

Is all 400 km interconnected on skis?+

Évasion Mont-Blanc is a large multi-sector domain. Most sectors are linked, but some connections require shuttle or road transfer, especially towards Les Contamines. The daily ski plan matters.

How do I get there?+

Geneva is the main international gateway, roughly 85 km away. Sallanches is the nearest railway station. A private transfer is generally the simplest choice in winter.
